UPDATE: The Get The Led Out campaign has been successful!
From the moment his good friend and rock legend Denny Somach asked him to provide the art for his new book Get The Led Out: How Led Zeppelin Became The Biggest Band In The World Ioannis knew this would be a dream project.
Ioannis wound up painting the cover and sixteen full color paintings covering everything from the band members to his own take on iconic Zeppelin images and album covers.
“The art in the book looks amazing but at the same time it had to be cropped and it’s just not possible to capture the full larger than life feeling of the band or the art on the page of a book” Ioannis said going on to explain “Which is why I wanted to give fans the chance to see the art the way it was meant to be seen with a super high quality reproduction but at a price that was more rock and roll and less museum fancy.”
To accomplish his goal of bringing the art directly to the fans Ioannis is launching a campaign on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter. With support from fans Ioannis is creating limited edition prints of his favorite Get The Led Out paintings.
Fans can contribute to the campaign in exchange for amazing rewards such as postcards, signed books and the prints themselves. Ioannis plans to have all rewards delivered in time to make perfect holiday gifts for all rock fans.
“Through the years I’ve been humbled and astonished at the amount of support I’ve received from my fans. Now I’m looking for my fans, music fans and most of all fans of the greatest rock band in the world Led Zeppelin to help support a project very dear to my heart.” Ioannis said.
The Get The Led Out: Led Zeppelin Prints by Ioannis campaign runs through December 15th and can only go forward if it’s funding goals are met.
